Team EA folds, joins up with Challis RC5 Team
After a huge apathy attack on the group leader and many members (heh just check the erm huge number of updates recently ;) team Elite Alliance has basically folded. However a team with a pretty similar philosophy (ie spend cash on big party) is already about made up of assorted Cams, CIX and other bods. Team 1199, Professor Challis' Most Excellent RC5 Team is where we've all ended up joining and suggest you do likewise =)

The Elite Alliance key rate is still going up and we were in 230th place last time I checked, should be heading for the top 100 nicely :)
Hack attempt
There was one and whilst we are not making any formal complaint or anything like that (cos it would be equally lame), we would like to point out that doing stuff like that is pretty damn lame. I imagine the perpetrator has had a suitable ear-bashing by now :)
Crypto Soc upgrade Logo
After reading our opinion of their logo the Crypto Soc has made a brand new one, which is ... erm ... well bordering on acceptable? Fortunately we've kept a copy of the old one here for you to peruse ;)

Elite Alliance Stats Climbing Rapidly
You'll be pleased to hear that our key rate is shooting up and we've already broken the 1 Trillion keys mark! Lots of members have been having trouble signing on to the team (966) as the official stats page is only up from about 1am -> 1pm GMT. However we should be able to add you all in this weekend, and don't worry because all the keys you've cracked so far will count towards the team total as soon as you sign on.

How lame can you be today?
Well if spam is the name of the lame game then the Cambridge Crypto Society really takes the biscuit. For some reason they decided to spam propaganda about their team (and anti-EA stuff too) to all the internal teaching mailing lists for Computer Scientists in Cambridge! These lists are intended for notifications of release of course notes and other information relevant to the Computer Science Tripos, not for a load of spam! The Elite Alliance web page is now online (as you can probably tell since you're reading this =). Most areas are still in need of more work but it'll do for the moment =)
Rival team discovered!
We have our first rival team! After much taunting on both sides we have decided that our first target is to get a higher key rate than the Cambridge Crypto Society team, and finally to overhaul their 1 week head start on us. To this end will all team members do their best to recruit more CPU speed into the squad! :)
